Museum Signage Systems
Double T-Arms are a robust artifact display solution. They come in several sizes and are designed with increased stability in mind compared with single T-Arms. The additional pair of arms is mid-way up the central post and is slightly shorter than the arms at the top. The additional pair of arms allows a high degree of customization, although it is generally used to hold an object more securely or to float an object above the base (as opposed to resting it directly on the base).
Bases:
The bases are cast acrylic and are available either painted semi-flat black or unpainted and clear. Bases are available in 4"x4", 7"x7", and custom sizes. They are all ½” in thickness.
Armatures:
For the 8" tall model, the upper pair of arms is 7" across, the lower pair is 6" across, and they are both made with 1/16” softened metal. The upright post is made with 1/8” metal that is much harder to bend.
For the 12" tall model, the upper pair of arms is 11" across, the lower pair is 8" across, and they are both made with 1/8” unsoftened metal. The upright post is made with 1/4” unsoftened metal that is much harder to bend.
The metal display armature is removable from the base so that it can be more easily formed (e.g bending the main post it in a vice or cutting it with Lineman’s pliers or a hacksaw). For wall-mounted displays, the armature may also be ordered without the base. A helpful instructional video for shaping the armature can be found here.
*Note: Avoid putting pressure on soldered joints when bending. Also, when modifying the post, be sure to remove it from the base very carefully to minimize damage risk to the base as that specific junction can be very tightCustom Armatures:
Sometimes a custom sized armature fulfills your needs more effectively than a standard one. You might want a larger or smaller armature, or maybe you need a stronger or more delicate upright. Whatever your needs may be, we can customize or custom build an armature for you.
