Nothing sets off a special piece of art like a separate stand-alone pedestal. We specialize in custom orders. We produce paint-grade pedestals, laminate pedestals, veneered pedestals, solid wood pedestals, lacquered pedestals, brass pedestals, bronze pedestals, steel pedestals, classic pedestals, modern pedestals, Round pedestals, turn table pedestals, security pedestals, and some of the most unique pedestals around.  

-Paint-grade pedestals are typically constructed from 3/4 thick Light weight MDF that is lock mitered together to produce a seamless and durable pedestal. They are then sanded, primed, and painted.

-Laminate pedestals are produce from 5/8 or 3/4 particle board that is butt jointed with glue and staples.  Laminate is then hand laid up, routed, filed and flushed between each piece. 

-Veneered pedestal are produced a number of ways but most commonly we lock miter Veneered panels together to produce perfect corners and a very strong pedestal. These pedestals are then hand sanded and taken to our finishing department to be stained, lacquered, painted, and finished in exactly the way you desire. 

-Solid wood pedestals are much more complicated because the wood expands and contracts and most people when asking for solid wood pedestals actually are looking for veneered pedestals. Except for very small risers and blocks, solid wood pedestals are actually unsafe and impractical.

-Lacquered pedestals are very similar to veneered pedestals and Paint-grade pedestals.  They are typically constructed from 3/4 thick Light weight MDF that is lock mitered together to produce a seamless and durable pedestal. They are then hand sanded and scrutinized for defects.  Next we apply a layer of primer, reinspect them for defects and correct anything that isn't perfect.  Another layer of primer is added to make the surface perfect and they are sanded until they are smooth.  Top coat is typically applied 2 or more layers thick.  We let these pedestals rest for a few days so the paint can properly harden before packaging.  

-Brass pedestals are our specialty.  We build a specialized pedestal for brass pedestals that is water resistant.  Brass sheets are applied similar to laminate but with a very specialized glue for longevity.  We then seal all the edges of the brass sheet and sand the brass to a fine finish and thoroughly clean it to remove any contaminates.  We have a specialized acid wash tank that holds over 300 gallons of solution.  We immerse the pedestals into this solution to rapidly age the surface and impart various shades of browns.  The brass surface is then cleaned and prepped for its final 2 stage urethane finish.  Brass pedestals are often confused with bronze pedestals as it is often just the terminology used to explain the desired coloration of the base metal. 

-Steel pedestals are actually difficult to produce.  We precision cut the metal so that it matches up perfectly and then we weld it together in a careful pattern so that the pedestal doesn't warp.  Next the pedestal is cleaned, sanded and prepped for paint, powder coat and patination.  Steel pedestals are the strongest type of pedestal when they are completed because of the nature of the material.  In addition to steel pedestals we also make stainless steel pedestals, aluminum pedestals and bronze pedestals.  Most often stainless steel pedestals are produced for exterior applications and are either kept natural with a brushed finish or they are powder coated for maximum corrosion resistance. 

-Round pedestals or cylinder pedestals are always fun to make.  We start with plywood tubes and apply veneer to the outer surface so that its perfect. Round pedestals require extra high levels of care and patience to get them right but the results are always amazing.
